FyreWrap Plenum Insulation
FyreWrap 0.5 Plenum Insulation is a high-temperature insulation blanket specifically designed to provide a single layer, flexible enclosure around combustible items located within fire-rated return air plenums. New construction, building renovations, or modifications to the electrical and mechanical systems may result in the installation of plastic pipe or plastic-coated cables that cannot meet the minimum combustibility requirements defined in the Mechanical Code.
FyreWrap 0.5 Plenum Insulation provides fire protection for these installed items by preventing flame propagation and smoke development in the plenum area. It is an alternative to removal and replacement of the combustible item with compliant non-combustible versions.
FyreWrap 0.5 Plenum Insulation incorporates Insulfrax high temperature insulation fibers, as its core material. Insulfrax high temperature insulation is recommended for continuous use at temperatures up to 2012°F (1100°C), allowing FyreWrap Plenum Insulation to provide excellent thermal insulation in a flexible non-combustible blanket form.
FyreWrap Plenum Insulation is Intertek Testing Services (formerly OPL) Listed (PP102, PP103), passes ASTM E-136 Testing for Non-Combustibility, and also ASTM-84/UL723 for Surface Burning Characteristics.
