FyreWrap Railroad Tank Car Insulation
FyreWrap Railroad Tank Car Insulation is a flexible, high-temperature insulation blanket specifically designed to provide passive fire protection for railroad tank cars that carry hazardous or flammable/combustible materials. FyreWrap Railroad Tank Car Insulation is installed on the exterior surface of the tank car and, covered with a protective jacket to provide a rigid & robust thermal insulation & fire protection system.
FyreWrap Railroad Tank Car Insulation meets (DOT) Federal Railroad Administration thermal protection requirements and have passed testing under pool fire and torch fire conditions outlined in 49 CFR Part 179.
FyreWrap Railroad Tank Car Insulation is approved for tank car Classes DOT-105, 109, 112, and 114, and comply with DOT Dockets HM-144, HM-145, HM-175, HM-175a, and HM-181 for cars carrying flammable and combustible liquids and gases and chlorine that are approved by the Association of American Railroads (AAR).
FyreWrap Railroad Tank Car Insulation is primarily comprised of Fiberfrax fiber, which offers high tensile strength and is chemically and thermally stable, with a melting point of 3200°F (1760°C).
